Material Introduction
Weathering steel, also known as corrosion-resistant steel or Corten steel, is a low-alloy steel series that falls between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Under natural weathering conditions, weathering steel incorporates elements such as niobium, molybdenum, phosphorus, and titanium, which impart weather resistance. These elements form a dense oxide layer between the rust layer and the steel substrate. The presence of this dense oxide film prevents the infiltration of oxygen and water from the atmosphere into the steel substrate, slowing down the deepening corrosion of the steel material, thereby enhancing its resistance to atmospheric corrosion.

Construction convenience: The processing techniques for weather-resistant steel are similar to those for ordinary steel, allowing direct processing such as cutting, welding, and stamping.
Low maintenance cost: Due to the good weather resistance and corrosion resistance of weathering steel, regular maintenance and upkeep are not required, thus resulting in relatively low maintenance costs.
